How have you demonstrated courage and adaptability throughout your career?
I’ve never followed a linear path—and I think that’s where the courage lies. I started in fashion and consumer goods, and while I loved the creativity, I felt a pull toward something more purpose driven. Moving into pharma was intimidating. I didn’t have a science background, and the complexity of the industry was overwhelming at first. But I leaned in, asked questions, and surrounded myself with people who were generous with their knowledge. Over time, I found my voice in this space—leading innovation, launching new programs, and building bridges between consumer insight and healthcare impact. Every pivot has come with uncertainty, but I’ve learned to trust that discomfort often signals growth.
What drives you to take on roles that challenge conventional boundaries?
I think I’ve always been drawn to the “blank page.” There’s something exciting about stepping into a role or project that doesn’t have a clear roadmap. Whether it was managing hospitality logistics for the Vancouver Olympics, launching a loyalty program in retail, or accepting an innovation role at Sanofi that didn’t yet exist in Canada—I’ve found energy in building from scratch. These moments have taught me to be scrappy, collaborative, and open to learning. I don’t chase risk for the sake of it, but I do believe that the most meaningful work often happens when we stretch beyond what we already know.
What have you learned about leading cross-functional teams in a highly regulated
industry?
To no ones surprise, pharma is complex, and no one succeeds alone. What I’ve learned is that leadership isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about creating clarity in the fog and being the light to shine through it. I focus on building trust early, making space for different perspectives, and aligning teams around a shared goal. Whether I’m working with regulatory, medical, or commercial partners, I try to be the connector—the person who helps translate across functions and keep momentum going. The most rewarding moments are when a team feels truly united, even when the path is challenging.
How are you working toward better mental space and balance in your leadership
journey?
This is something I’m actively working on. For a long time, I equated leadership with being constantly “on”—always available, always delivering. But I’ve come to realize that mental space isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity. One of the most grounding habits I’ve developed is exercising in my home gym five times a week. It’s early—sometimes painfully early—and I literally roll out of bed and head downstairs. But every time I do, it’s the fire that starts my day. It makes me feel strong, focused, and ready to lead with intention. Beyond that, I’m learning to set boundaries, take mindful breaks, and explore holistic wellness through naturopathy, which I’m now studying. It’s a journey, and I’m learning to give myself the same care I offer to others.
