How have you maintained growth, learning, and development?

When I was younger, I used to think this was about how much information I could consume from courses, conferences, workshops, or anything “upskill” worthy. But, over time, I realized that true growth has come from my everyday experiences – both my successes and my failures have been the most valuable learning opportunities.

What is the most important thing you have learned/observed that makes leaders effective and inspirational?

I think narrowing it down to a single observation is challenging! The great leaders I’ve had the pleasure to work with in my career possess a combination of various strengths. If I had to narrow it down, I’d say that EQ is always at the top of the list.  You can be smart but being able to understand and manage your own emotions while having empathy for others’ feelings is a superpower. When you combine this with vision, strong communication skills, decisiveness, and integrity, you have great leadership.

What healthy habits do you employ/suggest to maintain mental health and well-being?

My healthiest habit is giving myself grace. A wise mentor once told me that we can be everything, just not all at once. So, I give myself the space to accept setbacks in some areas while I thrive in others. It’s more of an approach than an action but I find it helps me keep a healthy perspective.
