Our purpose at Women Leaders in Pharma is to empower women working in pharmaceutical industry to reach their full potential.
We believe there remain barriers – both from the outside and within. We aim to provide a trusted environment where we can honestly discuss these barriers and find solutions to overcome them.
We aim to build our skills to help women be business savvy, be brave, be bold, and affect change. We discuss real issues and practical life hacks to help manage responsibilities both on the home and business front.

Tamara takes pride in coaching and inspiring people to succeed and grow, and continues to mentor many of the employees who have reported to her in the past.
Sarah is an innovative and solution-focused attorney with sound business judgement and strong work ethic. She has experience in international and North American commercial and transactional matters, contract negotiations, licensing, healthcare and pharmaceutical laws, intellectual property and litigation management.
Sarah is an attorney with a global strategic vision, is result-oriented and values her relationships with her clients. She has an authentic leadership, which enables her to successfully lead teams, projects and transactions.
Sarah is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales (non-practising member) and the Quebec Bar.
Angelina is a well-versed senior professional with over 20 years’ experience in regulatory affairs who recently joined Teva Canada Innovation (TCI), as a Senior Director in Regulatory Affairs.
Prior to joining TCI, Angelina held various positions in regulatory affairs and was exposed to regulatory strategy, product development and business development at Sanofi for 13 years. She was involved in activities covering the entire life cycle management of prescription and non-prescription products as well as Rx-to-OTC switch which gave her strategic agility.
Angelina has always been eager to establish strong relationships with her collaborators and is a strong believer in teamwork. She is focused, result-oriented and reaches self-accomplishment through the development of her team.
Angelina is the Senior Client Partner and Equity/ Inclusion Leader for Brunel Canada Ltd.
Since joining Brunel in 2006, she has been instrumental in leading teams, client acquisitions and recruitment programs across North America while supporting Strategic partnerships globally.
Angelina also has served her community by volunteering on Non-Profit Boards; Chairman Rexdale Community Health Centre, Vice President Administration Boxing Ontario and was an active Board member of the Association of Clinical Research Professionals. Angelina is passionate about people and the fact that her job enables her to positively impact patient lives by virtue of hiring those in the sciences is truly a blessing.
A dynamic business leader, Gamze Yüceland has earned a reputation for putting people first, from her team to the patients who stand to benefit from healthcare innovation. She firmly believes that humanizing the workplace not only enhances productivity but improves results. Today, she puts this philosophy into action each day as General Manager of Takeda Canada.
Gamze has built deep experience in health and pharmaceuticals over the past two decades, serving in a number of international sales and marketing roles. She joined Takeda Canada in 2018, offering a fresh perspective on the market after three years leading Takeda Turkey, where she contributed significantly to the company’s expansion in that market.

Jennifer is an accomplished pharmaceutical executive with demonstrated experience in the area of sales, marketing, operations, and business development. Currently holds roles as Co-Founder of PEAK Pharma Solutions Inc, President of the Ontario Pharmaceutical Marketing Association, and President of the Women Leaders in Pharma Executive Leadership Team. A leader who creates a culture of integrity, transparency, collaboration and reward. Proven success in establishing strategic partnerships with customer centric solutions.
Charlaine is an established professional with over 15 years of diverse experience across marketing, sales, sales training and manufacturing for the pharmaceutical industry. With her driven and goal-oriented work ethic, she has led multiple cross-functional teams to success by focusing on patient centric strategies. Charlaine believes that growth and development are fostered in environments that are diverse, inclusive and allow people to show up as their authentic selves. This mindset has allowed her to mentor and uplift many people, particularly women, to recognize their full potential. Outside of work, Charlaine is passionate about her family, volunteering in the community and actively seeking new opportunities to broaden her exposure and challenge her thinking. She is currently a strategic advisor for an up and coming author and is volunteering as the secretary for a non-profit organization in her community.
Coaching & Mentoring
Andrea is an authentic passionate sales leader with 20 years in the healthcare pharmaceutical space. Currently she is the Head of Sales for Telus Health overseeing teams across Canada in the Executive, Occupational and Virtual Healthcare space. The last 10 years she has held various leadership roles from a regional to national level and has won local, national and global awards for her strong sales results and leadership skills. She has consistently transformed and built many high performing teams to great success. She grew up in a strong entrepreneurial family and was exposed to all aspects of the family business. This experience at an early age has translated well into her corporate roles. She has an entrepreneurial spirit and love of people and learning which has led her to seeking out her ICF Coaching Certification by the end of 2020 from Adler Graduate Professional School. Her core values include learning, connection, gratitude, leadership and integrity. As a leader, mentor and coach, Andrea’s vision is to “awaken passion and potential”. She believes and encourages individuals to use their strengths and passions to reach their full potential. Andrea loves to be inspired and enjoys inspiring others to be the best possible version of themselves.

Dania Scott earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (1998) from the Lebanese American University (LAU) and is a licensed pharmacist in Lebanon. She currently lives and works in Toronto as Senior Vice President, Commercial Strategy at Tetra Bio-Pharma. Over the last five years, Dania has developed a unique skill set that includes cannabinoid education, commercialization and business development within the medical cannabis space. From November 1998 until April 2015, Dania assumed diversified leadership roles within the pharmaceutical industry where she contributed to the growth and launch of several pharmaceutical products in varied therapeutic areas in the MENA region and Canada.
Cheryl is a bold Finance Professional at GSK in Canada with 13 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry holding various roles in Finance and Commercial. Currently, she holds the position of Finance Partner, managing the Vaccines and Specialty Care portfolios. In this role, Cheryl uses her breadth of experience to recommend innovative patient-focused solutions by using her calculated risk-taking mindset. But more than an analytical powerhouse, Cheryl is a trusted and respected leader. Her transparent and straight talk personality is highly sought after to support and create a company culture that is engaged and agile. She has a passion for people, their wellbeing, and their development.
Vice President & Communications
Sarah has a passion for communicating with purpose. She has a strong track record of not just establishing and leading teams, but also delivering results. When the stakes are high and choices constrained, Sarah excels at bringing team members together to share diverse perspectives and generate creative and impactful strategies. Sarah is a trusted adviser who can be counted on to communicate a company’s vision whether in a press landscape dominated by critics or across social media in a crisis. Sarah is currently the Vice President of Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility at Purdue Pharma, L.P. Over the course of her time at Purdue, Sarah has crafted and executed strategic communications plans to highlight the company’s positive work and the value of its products. She did so while navigating a major U.S. public health crisis and corresponding litigation. She is committed to continuing to leverage her skills to work on the toughest challenges.
Nicola has 10 years experience in strategic pharmaceutical marketing and education. She is currently the Director of Business Development at MEDUCOM Health.
Nicola is an analytical marketer who ensures brand objectives are strategically achieved through refined tactics. She is an expert in conceptualizing multifaceted projects and bringing innovative ideas to life. She exercises proficiency in managing pharmaceutical marketing and educational programs, overseeing project teams to ensure exceptional execution. Nicola earned a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours in Marketing Management from the University of Guelph. She also holds a Master of Commerce from the University of Western Australia, concentrating in International Business and Marketing. Her warm personality and meticulous organization create trusted relationships with clients and their customers in CME, scientific meetings and pharmaceutical product launches. If you’re looking for someone to run an international meeting, Nicola is happiest when she finds herself off the beaten track in a foreign country.
Shawna is an established professional with seven years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry, three years in consumer-packaged goods and her own business. She is an accomplished sales and digital marketing professional who craves leadership to motivate others to reach their full potential. She loves to keep score and be the best at any task she is handed thriving in a fast-paced environment where change occurs quickly. Shawna has a strong track record of driving positive change and is known as a leader of innovation and digital transformation to accelerate data-driven business decisions and results in the pharmaceutical industry earning her recognition as a Most Impactful Performer in 2019 at GSK. Finally, relationships with business partners and clients is what she is known and respected for, believing people first will manifest positive change and buy-in to propel personal and business goals forward.
With a well-rounded career in various aspects of healthcare, Sanobar Syed is an experienced strategy, commercial and analytics professional with ~13 years of pharmaceutical experience. She enjoys looking at numbers from the other side of the mirror and delivering high-quality solutions that increase the bottom-line results. She has spearheaded global teams within business analytics, competitive intelligence for various therapeutic areas and strategy development. Mentoring helps her thrive. In her non-office hours, she has mentored and led global direct reports towards achieving the key strategic imperatives of organizations. She is a multiple times guest speaker at Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC) mentoring network, Access Employment, JVS Toronto & multiple times guest speaker at Schulich MBA healthcare forum. Recently, she was featured as a key guest speaker at Pharma.cimi.con and J+D forecasting and analytics function webinars in Europe. She declared a post graduate degree in Organic Chemistry and MBA and worked with major pharmaceutical organizations.
Sonia has been part of the pharmaceutical and medical recruitment team at St-Amour for close to eighteen years. Her knowledge of the industry, her vast network of contacts, and her professional reputation make her extremely qualified in helping pharmaceutical, medical, diagnostic, dental, ophthalmic and animal health companies hire top employees, whether for executive positions or in the field. Sonia worked for more than ten years in the pharmaceutical industry before joining St-Amour. She was National Sales Director, built two sales teams, worked closely with the marketing team and also contributed to global task forces in leadership and in training.
