What is a trend going on in the pharmaceutical industry that doesn’t get enough attention?
One trend in the pharmaceutical industry that may not receive enough attention from a talent standpoint is the increasing demand for interdisciplinary skills and expertise. The industry is evolving rapidly, driven by advancements in technology, data analytics and the growing need for innovation. As a result, there is a growing demand for professionals with a diverse skill set that combines scientific knowledge with the expertise in areas such as data science, AI, digital health and regulatory affairs.
What is the biggest challenge facing women in our industry today and how do you overcome it?
One of the biggest challenges facing women in the pharmaceutical industry today is still gender inequality and underrepresentation in leadership roles. Despite progress being made in recent years, women still face barriers to advancement and experience a gender gap in senior positions, including executive and board positions.
What is the most important thing you have learned that makes you an effective and inspirational leader?
I have learned the importance of simply recognizing and respecting the fundamental needs people have which, from where I sit, are to feel seen, heard, appreciated and connected.
What healthy habits do you employ to maintain your mental health and wellbeing?
I try to face my fears, practice self compassion, write in my gratitude journal and cultivate forgiveness.
