How do you maintain your own growth, learning and development with you and those you lead?

Self-development is an integral part of my daily routine. For example, each week, I consistently block time for self-development during “quieter” times in the field. This allows me to stay up to date on the changing pharmaceutical landscape, expands my disease knowledge and builds on my personal interests. Specifically, I listen to audio books, watch Ted Talk videos, and read articles. Expanding my knowledge helps me stay current and confident interacting with colleagues and medical professionals. Additionally, as the district “lead” for our learning platform, I utilize my own learnings to teach and encourage my peers to achieve their personal development goals. Without a doubt, I believe that finding ways to foster a growth mindset helps us consistently seek new and fun ways to deepen our learning, which leads to a creative team environment.

What healthy habits do you employ to maintain mental health and wellbeing?

The COVID pandemic has shone a light on the importance of mental health and physical well-being for so many of us. Therefore, I prioritize my mental wellness by making time for daily movement. I enjoy home spinning classes, bootcamp and dog walks. Additionally, as an avid reader, I unwind by transporting myself into a fiction book to relax. Lastly, I prioritize spending quality time with family and friends and try to cap off my days with an evening meditation.

What would you like future generations of women to know about their voice/leadership or gender equality?

I can’t emphasize enough the importance of leading with authenticity. Be unapologetically “you.” There is no specific recipe for success so being true to yourself will never lead you astray. Personally, I’m more introverted and was worried that it wasn’t advantageous to be this way in a sales role; however, I learned that there are so many unique perspectives and benefits that come along with being true to yourself. I also believe in advocating for yourself with respectful persistence when something doesn’t feel right or make sense to you. Lastly, I always try to lead with kindness in my interactions and remain patient-focused in all calls. When you keep the patient and kindness at the forefront, I believe the business follows.
